Silfra Wetsuit Snorkel Tour
Silfra Wetsuit Snorkel Tour — Explore the Crack Between Two Continents
Silfra is one of the most extraordinary snorkelling destinations on the planet — a glacial fissure in Þingvellir National Park where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. The water, filtered through volcanic rock for decades, offers visibility of up to 100 metres and colours that shift from deep cobalt blue in the Silfra Hall to vivid emerald green in the Cathedral. There is simply nowhere else like it on earth.
Our Silfra Wetsuit Snorkel Tour is the ideal way to experience this natural wonder. Unlike most operators in Silfra who use bulky drysuits that keep you pinned to the surface, we use specialist 7mm open-cell wetsuits — warmer, more flexible and far more comfortable. You float effortlessly through the fissure, face down in some of the clearest water in the world, taking in the full scale and beauty of one of Iceland’s greatest natural treasures.
No prior snorkelling experience is required — just a basic ability to swim and a sense of wonder. Our certified guides will give you a full briefing before entering the water and will be with you throughout. Groups are kept small so everyone gets personal attention and a relaxed, unhurried experience.
We always bring cameras into the water and photograph every member of the group throughout the tour. All photos are included in the price — so you leave with stunning images to remember the experience by.
