Freediving Silfra, Iceland — Day Tour

Silfra is one of the most extraordinary dive sites on the planet — a glacial fissure in Þingvellir National Park where you can freedive directly between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The water, filtered through lava rock for decades, offers visibility of up to 100+ metres and a colour palette unlike anywhere else on earth, from deep cobalt blue in the Silfra Hall to vivid emerald green in the Cathedral.

This Silfra freedive day tour is led by certified instructors and is open to beginners and experienced freedivers alike. No prior freediving experience is required — just a sense of adventure and a basic ability to swim. Groups are kept small so every guest gets personal attention and a safe, unhurried experience in the water.

We equip you with specialist 7mm open-cell freediving wetsuits, which are warmer and more flexible than the standard drysuits used by other operators. This means you can actually dive beneath the surface and explore the fissure in three dimensions — not just float on top of it.

  • Mask, snorkel and long fins
