Freedive Foodhunt Tour
Freedive Foodhunt Tour — Hunt Your Own Meal in the Icelandic Ocean
This is one of the most unique ocean experiences you can have in Iceland. The Freedive Foodhunt Tour takes you beneath the surface of the Icelandic sea to catch your own food — fish, sea urchin and whatever other edible treasures the ocean has to offer that day. It is primal, exhilarating and completely unlike any other tour you will find in Iceland.
We meet directly at the dive site — the exact location is chosen on the day based on weather and sea conditions, making sure you always get the best possible experience. This flexibility is part of what makes the tour special — we go where the ocean is at its best, not where it is most convenient.
The tour is suitable for complete beginners. We assess the group before entering the water and choose the depth accordingly — experienced freedivers can go deep while beginners stay shallower, but everyone gets to hunt and everyone gets to catch. Our certified guides are with you throughout, teaching you how to spot, approach and catch what the sea has to offer.
Everything you catch is yours to take home. Imagine sitting down that evening to a meal of fresh sea urchin and fish that you caught yourself, freediving in the crystal-clear waters of the North Atlantic. Iceland’s cold, clean ocean produces some of the finest seafood in the world — and on this tour you go straight to the source.
This is not just a tour — it is an adventure, a skill and a story you will be telling for years.
