Freedive Bjarnagjá

Bjarnagjá is one of the special places for freediving in Iceland which are great all year round, no matter how the weather is. Only about 50 km. from Reykjavik, Bjarnagjá is an inland freshwater/saltwater fissure about 22 meters deep.  It has very good visibility. Freediving in 7mm freedive suit will provide very good protection from the cold.

Freedive Iceland is the only Icelandic company offering freediving tours accompanied by certified freedive professionals and we can ssure you that freediving with us will be a memorable experience.  No freediving experience or licence is needed. We freedive with consideration to our customers ability. this is a very special place in the sense that you dive in a mix of fresh water and sea water and can see the layers meet.

We will provide you with all necessary gear required for freediving.

When all have arrived at meeting point we drive together to Bjarnagjá which is 5 min drive from Grindavík. Put on our freedive gear and jump in. Visibility is good and very easy to have fun there.

Our guides are all local people so we should be able to answer all your questions about the surroundings.
